Nelson DeMille, KT Sullivan, Gary Ackerman to Be Honored at Great Neck Arts Center Gala

Caroline Sorokoff Associate Director of the Great Neck Arts Center has announced that  KT Sullivan, United States Congressman Gary Ackerman, author Nelson DeMille and a local arts philanthropist will be honored at this years Gala which will be held Oct. 24th at the Gold Coast estate Oheka Castle on Long Island, which was commissioned by Otto Kahn.

The Arts Center was founded by Regina Gil 18 years ago and serves tens of thousands of people each year throughout the region.   The event is also the kick-off of the second edition of the Arts Center’s lastest venture, the Gold Coast International Film Festival, a week of exciting film screenings, events, workshops and parties scheduled for October 23-28.  Past honorees have included Broadway Stars Kelli O’Hara, Melissa Errico, Trent Kowalik from Billy Elliot, and Savion Glover.  Visual Artists James Rosenquist, Oleg Cassini and Bob Gruen have also been honorees.

KT Sullivan has taken the reigns of the Mabel Mercer Foundation after the death of Donald Smith and will host the Cabaret Convention at Lincoln Center in October.  She will also perform at this years Great Neck Gala.
