The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport announces 3 special performances of Jon Peterson's one-man-show, Song Man Dance Man, on Friday, January 13 at 8:00pm, Saturday, January 14 at 3:00pm and 8:00pm. Jon Peterson who starred as the Emcee in last season's Cabaret, returns to the John W. Engeman Theater for an entertaining night of nostalgia. Song Man Dance Man is a rollercoaster ride through the lives of seven of the giants of the 20th century entertainment world: Fred Astaire; Gene Kelly; George M. Cohan; Sammy Davis Jr; Donald O'Connor; Bobby Darin; and Anthony Newley.
In Song Man Dance Man, Peterson will perform songs and dances that made them all legends, wrapped up in the joyous and sometimes tragic story of their rise. With just an accompanist for the evening at the piano, Peterson weaves anecdotes, historical notes and comedy into a narrative that ties all seven legends into one thrilling night.
